Vacancies

The Parish News is at the heart of our community reaching over 850 readers and supporting 36 local advertisers.  Produced by a dedicated team of volunteers, it plays a vital role in sharing local news, events and stories that bring people together.

We have a temporary editor who has taken on the role but we do need someone to take on the job longer term.  Details of what is involved can be found on page 10 of the September edition of the magazine.

Join a Volunteer Team

Joining a volunteer team is the quickest way to feel at home, make wonderful friends, and make a real difference around here.  We have a space for every personality and skill set, whether you want to be out front, behind the scenes, or helping on a rota.

There's no massive time commitment, the teams operate on a flexible, rotating schedule.  Signing up just puts you on a team rota, allowing you to serve every few weeks, once a month or even every few months based on your availability.

Below are just some of the areas where you can get involved:

• Sides Persons:  Be the first friendly face people see as they arrive, welcoming regulars and newcomers alike, handing out service sheets, and helping everyone find a seat.
• Readers:  Help bring the Scriptures to life by reading the Bible passages during our Sunday services.
• Intercessors:  Lead our congregation in prayer during the service, bringing our community and global needs before God.
• Servers:  Assist the clergy at the altar during the service to help our worship run smoothly and reverently.
• Choir:  Lift your voice and help lead our worship through music, whether you are a seasoned singer or just love to sing.
• Band Members:  Bring your musical talents - guitars, keys, drums, or vocals - to help lead our contemporary worship times.
• Tech & Sound:  Help run our Sunday audio, visuals, or live stream - no prior experience required, we will train you!
• Coffee Rota:  Serve refreshments and offer a warm welcome to everyone after the service.
• Church Cleaning:  Work behind the scenes on a flexible rota to keep our sacred spaces beautiful, clean, and welcoming for everyone.
• Opening & Closing the Churches: Help us keep our church building accessible and secure by unlocking the doors for daytime visitors and locking up in the evening.
• Puppeteers:  Bring Bible stories to life with humour and creativity during our all-age services.
• Flower Arrangers:  Use your creative eye to arrange beautiful flowers that bring colour, joy, and life to our church buildings.
• Churchyard Working Party:  If you love the outdoors and fresh air, join the team that keeps our beautiful grounds tidy, green, and well-maintained.  Work parties are held on the first Saturday of the month at both churches from 9:30.
• Eco Church: Help us care for God’s creation by driving our green initiatives, reducing our environmental footprint, and promoting sustainability.
• Treasure Seekers & Messy Church:  Help support our Children and Families Ministry Leader as they teach, play games, and share faith with the next generation in a fun, safe environment.
• Open the Book:  Join our team that goes into local primary schools to bring Bible stories to life for young children using drama, fun props, and interactive storytelling.

You don’t need to be an expert to join - just willing to bring your unique personality and a helping hand.

Call for Helpers

On Harvest Sunday (27^th September), after our Thanksgiving service at Holy Trinity church, we will be having a Community Harvest Lunch in Bisley Village Hall at 12:30.  If you are able to provide a dessert, please contact the Parish Office.
